About

The Canary Press is Australia's greatest (and possibly only) short story magazine.

It was founded in 2013 on the back porch of a shared apartment, in an elaborate attempt to avoid doing the dishes. Since then we have published ten issues, featuring new and well-known Australian writers like Margo Lanagan, Josephine Rowe, Tony Birch and Ellen van Neerven, alongside international superstars like George Saunders, Roald Dahl and Annie Proulx.
